Things I learnt from: 100 ways to motivate others (Chapters 1-5)

Hi everyone! I'm back!

I've been reading a book called "100 ways to motivate others" by Steve Chandler and Scott Richardson. This post is made for the people who don't have time to read books or don't want to read them but still want to learn from them. There are a hundred chapters in this book so I have broken it down. The next posts on the learnings of the book will be on the Study Rush community so you will have to have an account to read the next ones! Don't forget to sign up!

PS - Some of these pointers might not be of any help to you. I have made a note of the things that I thought were important and I am sharing that with you all. Some of the chapters might have a lot of points some of them might have few, some of them might have only one and some of them might have none. Take in whatever you think will help you or applies to you but don't completely ignore the others.

Chapter 1 - Know where motivation comes from

  1. Motivation always comes from within the person.

Chapter 2 - Teach self-discipline

  1. We don't "have" self-discipline we USE it.

  2. You have to choose to use your self-discipline.

Chapter 3 - Tune in before you turn on

  1. People have to hear you to be moved by you.

  2. You have to engage in deep listening.

  3. Listen to what the other person has to say first, then talk.

  4. Your listeners have to trust you enough to listen to you and understand what you say.

Chapter 4 - Be the cause, not the effect

  1. Be the cause, not the effect - It should start with you!

  2. Ask 'What do we want to produce?'

Chapter 5 - Don't criticize upper management

NO POINTS FOR THIS CHAPTER :(

Thank you for reading this, if you found this helpful, make sure to sign up for the Study Rush community and tune in for the other chapters! If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them in the comments! Thank you and see you next time!
